anyone know if a trip computer can be pirated out of the expedition or the navigator? i would really like one that works in a center console that i can put in between my seats... i tried a search on this and came up with next to nothing.

 

I woould say that yes you can do it, but you dont want to do that. It would be way too much work. It would need to be wired into the engine computer among other things.

 

my guess is the harness is already there, something similar to the keyless entry. rather then ford decide which vehicle to put the harness in, they do it in all, regardless if it is an f150, expd, or navi... just my thoughts... so i wouldn't think it would be that much trouble. plus i bet the navi trip computer is really nice, lots of bells and whistles, and i bet it looks real cool. my father has a 99 moutaineer and the trip computer in that is really nice, it holds all sorts of information ready to be displayed... i want something like that.
