interior light problem
HAVE ANY OF YOU HAD PROBLEMS WITH YOUR INTERIOR/DOME LIGHT? SOMETIMES WHEN IT'S COLD OUTSIDE, WHEN I OPEN MY DOOR(S), THE LIGHT DOESN'T COME ON. I THOUGHT THERE MIGHT BE A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRICAL CONTACT, BUT THERE ARE NO BUTTONS INSIDE THE DOOR JAMS THAT TRIGGERS WHEN THE LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF. WHAT'S UP WITH THIS? CAN ANYONE HELP?
The little button you are thinking of is actually inside the door frame. The guide that slides in and out of the frame is what triggers that button. Try spraying some lube in there. Try a little WD40 at first to loosen it up. If this works then you know that is the problem. If it is the problem, then spray a silicone or white lithium lube in there (as WD40 is NOT a lubricant).
I am suggestion a little WD40 first because if this isnt the problem, you dont want to gum up the inside with too much white lithium grease.
Let us know how you make out.

THANKS J-150, I'LL DO THAT TONIGHT WHEN IT GETS REAL COLD AND LET YOU KNOW HOW IT TURNED OUT. COULD YOU JUST SPREAD A LITTLE LITHIUM BASE GREASE ON THE ARM THAT GOES IN THE DOOR FRAME AND WORK IT BACK AND FORTH?
