fog light wiring on mustang
Since it is still a Ford I thought someone here might still know the answer. I want to add fog lights to the 2001 Mustang, I have looked where the control switch is located and it is wired. Do you think that the rest of the car is pre-wired for fog lights. We got such a great deal on it becuase it was on the lot, I thought that the lights could be added later.
I have searched on the net for the answer and all I seem to find is the fog/park conversion. Do you think the wiring is similar to the truck?

Most of the Mustangs come with the same wiring harness. All you should have to do to make sure is look under the front of the car and you should find a 2 plugs with nothing connected to them (one on the driver side the other on the passenger side) If you find this you have the right harness. As for the switch I do believe you may have to purchase a new switch from ford.

Thanks, that is what I was hoping - I really did not want to do a lot of wiring. It sure is easier to find things in the truck because of the height.
The factory switch is nice looking - I know some guys installed some plain circular ones on their trucks - I wonder if it would fit.
I will let you know how it goes after lunch.

sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the 96+ stangs are NOT Maxiwired for foglights. 
The interior harness is there, so the switch pops in, you can use either of the 2 2001 style switches, the only difference is the shape of the indicator light, and $20, lol.
You can get a good deal from www.velocitymustangperformance.com for the fog lights, switch and wiring harness.

That's what I found out too. My local dealership charges 235.00 {cdn] for the kit.
Do you on anyone with installation pics. I could really use the help.
I tried the mustang forums and they only have info on the fog/parking light conversion.
It is hard to get answers from those sites -unless you want to increase the horsepower on your car, you are out of luck.
