She dead
She dead
So I just did the dreaded drivers side blend door on my 2013 FX4. Went out this morning to finish up, reinstall the center console. Battery dead. Opened door with key. grabbed my trickle charger, and the 4 ways started flashing. just outside, not on the dash. Hit the button, no change. Tried the key in the ignition as you get the warning when you unlock the door with the key, no change. Unhooked the ground, and checked the battery 8.7volts. Battery was disconnected once I had the seats unbolted, and ready to come out, I hooked it up to try the new actuator. it just spins continuously with the key on. I tried it in place, and it seemed fine. No lights on over night, as I have to work outside, and it was dark when I finished. Thoughts? Going to check for a draw on the battery once it's charged.
Got everything back in. Got her going, even did a load test on the battery. Everything seems fine. did a draw test for amperage, and it is like .001. I did notice that when the battery had some charge, the dash warning was telling me to shift into park, as the shifter was unhooked, and the cable was in neutral position. Suppose that warning would be enough to kill her? Probably would have been on for 12 hours.
Right. My wife went to go to work a few weeks ago, and came back in saying there were lights on the dash. I went out Service advance trac, hill decent error. I tried it, it worked fine, so I told her to go to work. I went online and saw all these stories about replacing the rack and pinion. She called later saying the engine light was flashing and it wouldn't rev up. I had a flash back... I changed the air filter that day, and my 25 year old neighbor stopped by to say high wearing her lululemons, out walking her dog. I asked my wife to open the hood and take a picture. Damn tight pants.... I had not plugged the Mass air sensor back in. Told her how to do it, and everything was good. How the 2 systems were tied together, who knows. I ran the truck today, and no issues. If it starts in the am, I will guess she did not like being in neutral all night.
