Hello I recently purchased a canopy for my 2014 f-150. Before taking apart I took a picture of wiring from previous owner for the 3rd brake light. See picture 1.
i have the same wiring and my question is I don’t understand where the second wire goes.
based on the pictures, red and black wire from the canopy goes to black wire on the driver side break light. Is that actually a ground wire? Whats the purpose of this wire.
second question is that solid red wire is going down under the car in the background. Where is it that wire going? I keep reading about light green wire under the car but I can’t located it.
Becandsem, I moved your thread here, because I think you'll get better help here than in General Discussion.
Do you have a multimeter? There are very few things that need electrical power in a cap, usually only a bed light and the third brake light. A multimeter would tell you which of the truck's wires was sending power when you stepped on the brakes, and, which, if any of them was always "hot" for the bed lights.
