91 f150 302 random engine shutdown
So, been tracing out a problem for a little while now, vehicle starts and runs great, then randomly (doesn't matter what the rpm / speed) is, it will shutdown the engine, acting as if all of a sudden, spark decides to just stop. Fuel is available and fuel pressure is good. It just seems like the engine spark control stops working. turn vehicle off, then it will start right back up, no issues. Originally had a distributor / ICM / Ignition coil problem, cleaned up distributor, replaced ICM and Ignition coil. Battery, starter and alternator look great, starter/ignition relay looks ok, verified connections. I'm running out of ideas, anyone got one? If I didn't give enough info, let me know.

I suggest cleaning the battery cables/connections at both ends and clean the engine grounds. Then, I would suspect the ignition module especially if it is the one that is installed on the side of the distributor. #not a mechanic
thanks for the reply. The ICM was one of the parts I replaced, and it still checks out ok. the grounds have been cleaned and tested, they all appear as good. the ignition coil checks out good, and all connections are tight. This is why this is confusing me, this is not a hard system to figure out, also, the battery and cables and connections are clean and good. My favorite part, is I'll run a code test and all i get is the everything's fine test. When the ICM wen out early summer I got the everything's fine code also, so I don't exactly trust the code reader(for anyone not remembering this is the "flash" style with bare wire code reader).
another thought...
Quick question...the ignition / starter relay, the round thing with two post on the passenger fender side of the engine compartment....does that continuously run power to the ignition system... i can't seem to find anything except it works with starting the vehicle. And since my vehicle starts and runs well it would seem that that relay is not going bad. I've found loose connections on that before, just wondering if that is in continuous use during the operation of the vehicle besides for initial start up.
