01 F'-150 5.4 4×4 temp gauge and A/C intermittently working

I bought it used. Normally the temp gauge is dead and the oil light is on, but the oil pressure gauge is at normal and the A/C compressor will not work.
At times, (usually at start up )the temp gauge works, the oil light goes off and I just realized the A/C will work. I'm looking for a common thread. Have been over the wiring diagrams, but would appreciate any help. TIA

Actual pic of Normal

What you are calling the "oil light" is actually a dual-function indicator. It is actually the oil pressure / engine temperature warning light.

You have an engine temperature sensing issue. When the PCM determines, based on its inputs, that the operating temperature is out of allowable limits, it disables the A/C compressor clutch.

You need to fix the temperature-reporting issue. Start by scanning the PCM for any fault codes. More likely than not, there's an issue with the CHT sensor or its wiring. Fixing that will also cure an issue that is causing your check engine light to be on.
