Question Fuel Guage Problem

Hi, I don't post much, mainly just read you guys (& gals) posts for information. I have spoke with SuperChips_distributer on the phone when I ordered my Superchip. (Replacing the Hypertech chip I had, from information gathered at this site.) Any way I am having a problem with my fuel guage. There was a similiar post back in February 21, 2001 on this subject and I was hoping to get more information. (GIJoeCam said he could give detailed instructions on dropping the fuel tank.) My fuel gauge reads full all the time when the truck is running. When I turn the key off it goes to empty so the guage is not stuck. Also if I cruise at highway speeds without alot of throttle movement the guage will sometimes start to come down to normal, but if I stomp the throttle it beelines for full. Is this the sending unit or is it pressure in the line. The only mods I have on this truck are the Superchip and a K&N air system. Thanks, sorry post is so long.

Well, I had some problems with battery cables being corroded and cracked. I've never had both cables go bad at the same time though. I replaced the negative after it wouldn't start at which time I noticed I could see the strands of wire through the cracks in the insulation (which I never noticed before). Strangely enough it happened literally minutes after I replaced the dead battery in my little GMC (pardon my language) truck. It was as if I removed the spirit from one truck and put it in the other. The day after that while stopping to get lunch I turn the key and nothing again. This time it was a lot harder to find that my positive was bad too. It looked fine until I used pliers to smash the terminal where it connects to the wire, restoring the connection and getting me home.
To the point, finally, after replacing both cables my gas gauges work perfectly now. For the first time since I bought it two years ago. The bad thing is now I can see how fast they go from full to empty.
