Supply power to travel trailer when operating?

Is there a fuse to power the charging system on a travel trailer when the Ford F-150 with tow package is running?

Is that circuit always energized when the uit is running? Thanks,

Hello, Sonoma - and welcome! You don't give the model year of your truck, so I can't give you a precise answer to your question but:

In my old 2005 truck, I had to install a 30A fuse in the power supply center under the hood. In my 2014 truck, I had to install BOTH a 30A fuse and a relay in the power supply center. Neither one came with thise devices installed, but they were in the glove compartment. I seem to recall that 2015+ trucks have the charging system controlled by the ACM, and no fuse or relay installation is needed, but my memory could well be faulty regarding this. And, I don't know what 2003- trucks needed, but I suspect they also needed a fuse.

If you add your truck's model year to this thread, I'm sure someone will be along soon to give you correct guidance.

- Jack

I should have mentioned, it is a 2016 regular cab F-150. There are missing spots in the under the hood fuse box, but nothing indicating power to the trailer. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Compare the "missing" spots to the fuse and relay chart in the owner's manual.
