Pretty common behavior for a fuel pump that's on its last gasp. Might be other things, though, you'd need to do some additional diagnostics to get a better handle on it.

 

Sorry for long response. Been sick for over a week with a bad tooth that finally had to be extracted.

Well the truck has been starting everyday so far without a hiccup.
If it happens again I will keep all informed.

Drove to my brothers house 4 miles away, came back out 6-7 hours later and truck cranked strong but will not start.

With key off tried jumping socket pins 30 & 87 as suggested by SSCULY in post #11, got a spark and jumper wire got hot but didn't turn on pump. I put relay back in and cranked it and it started but died after 2-3 sec.

I'm at a loss at this point. Any other suggestions on what or where to test next?

I just hate to drop the tank and replace the fuel pump and have the same issue.

ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
