2000 F150. I know many have been there because I have read the posts. The Door Ajar and Dome Light come on and stay on most of the time. I have tried all the posts I could find. Spray WD-40 into latch (worked for a couple days). Replace the latch switch (worked couple days). Remove latch switch from latch and remove the latch switches. Wow, my problem kept coming back. Had to think real hard, after printing out wiring schematic. Than I got upset! Grabbed the wiring harness between door and body, shook it real hard, Vola!! It has been working correctly every since.

 

could have a broke wire in the rubber boot. if so, the problem will come back! to fix broke wire, run a new pc of wire from kick panel into the door, Don't repair it in the boot, repairs don't flex and will break again.
