Angry Bad Blinker

LEFT TURN SIGNAL WORKS FINE, RIGHT TURN SIGNAL NOT WORKING BUT YOU CAN HEAR THE FLASHER BLINKING TWICE AS NORMAL, ALL BULBS APPEAR TO BE OK (TURNED ON HAZARDS AND WALKED AROUND THE TRUCK) IF I HOLD TURN SIGNAL SWITCH UP SLIGHTLY JUST BEFOR IT LATCHS IT WORKS FINE. COULD THE SWITCH BE BAD????????

Mt truck started doing the same thing today only the left side is the screwy one. I found that if I push the switch half way down (lane Change signal) it works as normal. Also, if I lock the switch (left turn signal), Neither the dash lite nor the front signal lite work, and the rear light flahes very fast. I can get it to work normally by bouncing the steering wheel up from the bottom position (tilt wheel) while it is malfunctioning.

IMO it has to be a malfunction in the multi-mal-function switch. I'm going to change it since my windsheild washer is very hard to get to work in the morning.

When I bought my '97 F150 4x4, it was doing the exact same thing, only the problem migrated back and forth from left to right blinker. After a month or so, the problem corrected itself, but I do have a problem with my intermittent wipers being intermittent only sporadically, and washer only washes when I hold my mouth right. If you find a solution, please post it!

Your truck is a 97. Get a 97 multifunction switch. They list for roughly $60. The local dealer sells roughly 3 per month. So, it must have some design defects. It looks like an easy swap. I'll likely change mine next week eventhough it has started working well again. I'll let you know how hard the swap is.
