Door Ajar light on - WD-40 Does NOT work - Door lock button doesn't work either.

Any suggestions on what else to try for a door ajar light on that's very annoying? I tried the WD-40 and that didn't work. Sprayed almost an entire can. In addition, the door locks will not work. I have to use the key fob. Pressing on the door lock button on the doors has no effect. I have a 2006 regular cab so it has the half doors on it. Sprayed them all. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help!

Pull the latches out and replace the switches.

Pull the lock actuators out and either repair or replace them.

Good mornin';

OP - you stated that yer door lock actuators will work via the remote ( key fob )? (If you meant using the key itself, just ignore me )

Then it may simply be a case of dirty contacts in the door lock switches.

These two how-to's, while not specific to the lock switches, do show the general R&R procedure and contacts - in Jack's article he mentions burnishing those contacts.

Worth a try - before spending $$$ on new switches.

And here's a couple related door articles ( just fyi):

good luck!

Thanks for the input. I might have to take it to a mechanic. That might be a bit above my pay grade, perhaps.
