Switched power source 2013 F150

Hoping someone can help as we have just purchased a 2013 F150 crew cab at work and would like a switched power source as we need to install communication radios as well as a strobe light.
Was told by ford that we would have to go direct to battery,is that correct?
The strobe is fine of the battery, but the guys have a tendency to leave radios on with flat batteries resulting.
This topic has probably been beat to death, but I do appreciate the help.
Thanks Roger

Hi.

try this: https://www.f150online.com/forums/4334852-post14.html

May be slightly different for a '13 fuse number-wise so you may need to probe around a bit with a DVM or test light.

Use that feed to trigger an appropriatley-sized ISO relay (30-40A) to actually supply your equipment. And yes - primary power to the relay for the loads needs to come from the battery fused right AT the battery.

Roger that, Roger

If yer looking to power several devices, you may want to use something like one of these
to give each a separate switched (or non-switched) fused supply...
