96 F150 4wd button doesnt work???

96 F150 4wd button doesnt work???
I dont know if my 4wd button is working or its something else. I press it and no lights come on and I cant hear anything trying to engage. this is a used truck I bought so not sure what to check next. Any suggestions?

ok, I did a self test on the 4wd control module. seems to be working. Im only getting 5.5 volts coming down the shift motor for some reason. Any ideas there?
