2005 lariat 4x4 crew cruise issues

Ok my cruise works but has 2 issues. the set button and the off button don't work. I have to set the cruse with the cost button and can only turn it off with the break. and cant use the set button to pick up speed. anyone having this issue or know of a fix?

nope all stock 3rd brake light dosent work there is no power up there. but its only the off and set buttons that aren't working cruse works fine. so im not thinking its a break switch issue. leaning to the switch its self just hoping someone has a way to test this or has came across it b4

The cruise is not working fine, the set and off buttons are not working...

The CHMSL not having power, might want to figure out what that is, before you go too much farther.

That is at the splice just after the one that goes to the PCM ( which operates the CC ).

The question was not aimed at a "brake switch" but the load that the PCM registers ( if it is too low, the CC will not function correctly ).

It could be the switch, if you want to ignore the problem you have and test that.

remove the switch and test with an meter on the ohm setting between the light blue w/ black stripe wire and the Dark green w/ orange stripe wire.

0 ohms = off
300 ohms = coast
600 ohms = set
1110 ohms = resume
2110 ohms = on

something is telling me there is a 2200 ohm resistor in parallel with these, so the readings would differ by the formula :
1/Rt = 1/R1 + 1/R2

So for the coast setting it would be :
1/Rt = 1/300 + 1/2200 = 2/2500
Rt = 2500/2 or 1250 ohms. ( inverse both sides of the equation ).

Set would be 1/600 + 1/2200 or 2/2800 = 1/Rt
inverse both sides, Rt = 2800/2 or 1400 ohms.

Not 100% sure on the 2200 ohm resistor at the end, be prepared to get 1250 instead of 300 on the coast setting.

I would still focus on the problem at hand, the CHMSL not getting power when the brakes are on. That is an obvious problem.

the brake light is another issue I was wanting to fix just was a step lower on my list. didn't think it was related because it wasn't working when I got the truck. so the connection I need to check where is it?
