Power Sliding Window
Power Sliding Window
I've got and 05 FX4 F150 and the rear power sliding window has stopped working, the same thing recently happened with a friend of mine on the same year XLT. has anyone heard of anything common concerning this issue?
My first thought was the switch after I checked the fuses and didn't find any issues there checked the wires coming to the motor and there was no continuity.
Thanks for any help

What wires did you check that had no continuity ?
When you press the switch, do you get + VDC and ground at the rear window motor ?
- If you reverse the switch direction, the polarity gets reversed.

In the leads that connects to the motor for the window there are only two leads, which are the ones I checked. I didn't get any voltage whatsoever and I checked the ohms as well witch is where the continuity also to be bad ... Honestly I think it's the switch and wanted to see if anyone else had the same issue. It's a $60 switch that I have only been able to find from a dealership.
I would check for power and ground go INTO and OUT OF the switch and go from there. One of my cars has a PERSISTANT problem with the contacts in the drivers door window switch but none of the others! I have to remove it, take it apart and clean and reassemble and reinstall it about once per year.
Not sure if it is related, but on my '13 the switch quit working. Dealer replaced the cluster that controlled the sun roof and rear window. They said they've seen a couple of the '13's with this issue.
