2007 Brake Lights come on go off?
2007 Brake Lights come on go off?
Has anyone experienced this issue, last night I noticed while stopped sitting still my brake lights came on normally, stayed on for a min then went off while still stopped without moving or releasing the brake pedal.
If I release then reapply the lights come on normally then go off again while still compressed? Also for the past week my Brake light has been coming on and going off spontaneously. Brake fluid is full, ebrake is not applied and is fully retracted. Sometimes it will stay off then come on shutter on and off then stay off.
Would it make sense that both sensors on the ebrake and brake pedal have went bad or is it a wiring issue somewhere? Anyway to test? Thanks

sounds like 2 different issues.
the stop lamp switch, it sounds as if the contacts are having an issue.
- Hook a test light or meter to the output side of the Shift interlock / stop lamp switch on the brake pedal.
The output to the rear of the truck is the Light Green stripe wire.
Stop lamp circuit is Light green w/ red stripe to light green.
The other 2 wires to the switch are the Shift interlock circuit
- Tan w/ Red stripe wire to Pink w/ light green stripe.
- Cruise control disable switch is at the top of the pedal, not the same switch as the stop lamps. The shift interlock / stop lamp switch has the yellow c-clip retainer on it ( at least the 2006 had this ).
Test with the output of the stop lamp switch to see if you look + VDC at the switch when the stop lamps at the rear of the truck go off, to know if you have another wiring issue or if the switch is the cause.
If + VDC is lost at the output of the stop lamp switch, next is to test the input to the switch, to confirm the switch contacts are causing this ( i.e. loose fuse ).
