F-150 XLT 2007 5.4L Flex Ext Cab Fog Light add-on

Hey guys,

Here's my situation, I hit a deer not to long ago and when I bought my truck it didn't have fog lights on it.

What i am looking to do is buy the correct bumper with fog lights and a OEM fog light switch to install in the dash.

Question is: Has anyone done this and will the truck have the correct wiring in the harness to the head lights for the fog lights and at the switch so that i can find the connector (Need help with location) for the fog lights add the relay and the New head light switch.

It's a 2007 Ext Cab 5.4 Flex XLT 4x4 with auto headlights

Any help would be great! Thanks guys (Need the panel location of said relay and where to find the Fog light connection.

If someone can take a picture of where their fog light wiring comes from that might help me to find it on the harness. Thanks!

I have a 2002 F150 XLT 4 door. I added the lights and changed the inside switch. My truck already had the wiring inside the cab. The new switch with the pullout for the fogs just plugs directly into o.e.m. wiring. Under the front bumper in the area where the fog lights are suppose to go the wiring is also already there. I used a meter to verify their operation. It's been working for over a year. I purchased the new headlight switch direct from Ford and the lights from a national truck parts company.

Do not recall the MY, a member tried this I think with a '07 ( '08 ? ) MY truck, and came to the wiring from the switch to the cab fuse panel was not installed.

He had the fog lamp bulb connectors and installed the fuse for the fog lamps, and jumpered the Normally open contacts in the fuse panel and they worked.

The problem being the white w/ black stripe wire at the headlamp switch connector was not to the fuse panel.

If you want an easier way to do this, get a relay kit for fog lamps, wire it to a 9145 bulb connector ( and to the battery ) and instead of using the switch that came with it, wire it to a factory switch on pin #9, might have the white w/ black stripe wire on it ( cut that from the factory harness and solder the switch pig tail to the relay you have with the kit ).

If you want to try from the start, the fog lamp bulb connector might be tapped back against the wire harness.

Passenger side, follow the headlamp wire harness down with the horn harness, and look for it in that area ( might be doubled back at the horn harness end towards the headlamp ).

Thanks I think i understand what your getting at! I was on motorcraft site and punched in my Trucks Vin and this came back and the Engine Bay Harness :/

12A581

Part# 12A581

Engine Compartment Main Harness

Ford 150 Series ; 4WD, Less Daytime Running Lamps, Less Front Fog Lamps

When I was looking they had about 8 different options of this harness with and without running lights, with and without fog lights, and 2d, 4d

Does anyone know if this means that the Fog lights connection isn't in My harness? or is it just doubled back and covered?

Go look under the front of your truck.

The connector will be tapped against the harness if it is installed.
