Bad oxygen sensor
Bad oxygen sensor
Hi. I have a 2006 ford f150. Just curious if any of this stuff is related. I need a new muffler and tail pipe badly which I am going to fix soon. My emmisions/service engine light came on a few weeks ago. Not long after a fuse keeps blowing. Fuse 21 "cluster keep alive power". None of my gauges work, speedometer and dome light also doesn't work. The guy at the shop said the emmision light is becaue my oxygen sensor is bad, which I am also going to get fixed. Can any of this stuff be related? Seems weird that not long after the emission light came on the fuses started blowing. The mechanic couldn't find the fuse problem. It is a small garage and they don't have the diagnostic machine, so I will have to take it elsewhere. Wondering if getting the sensor replaced will take care of the fuse problem? I will find out soon, but would like to know now. Thanks!
Unrelated.
Fuse F21 goes only to the cluster. You likely have a short circuit either in the cluster or in the wiring between the cluster and the fuse box.
Until you actually have the fault code(s) read, it's not possible to determine why the light is on.

The mechanic said it was a bad sensor, but I will take it to the Ford garage to be sure. Just afraid what they will charge. They are known to be expesive, but I guess it will be the only way to get it fixed, haha.
