12v to 110 converter?
12v to 110 converter?
After Googling threads from here for an hour, and searching manually for another 1/2 hour, I just decided to ask lol.
Me n the fiance just bought a Simmons Queen air mattress for the truck bed when we go camping. It came with a 110v connected pump that does the job in about 2 minutes. My '08 has the Flow Through console, but no 110v outlet like the new trucks--since buying a new '12 or '13 model is outta budget, would it be ok to plug a 100w Stanley 12v to 110v converter into my rear power point? Here is a link to the product...

Like I said, it would only be used for that purpose, perhaps 6-10 times during the summer months, and the mattress can deflate without the pump. Just don't wanna blow a fuse or damage the PP or my battery whilst away from civilization. Thanks.

Model: AR-101
Power Supply: 120v~, 60Hz
Current: 0.75A
Power: 90W
Listee: Smartrend
Manufacturer: HBY
So, if the 100W Stanley actually is 100W, and the Pump only draws 90, I should be good, correct? Like I said, it literally takes only 1 1/2-2 mins to fill the bed to capacity.
And, Richard. Thanks for the link, might go that route if all else fails...

The power requirements of the inflator indicates you're just barely within the capability to use that inverter. It's worth a try, but don't be surprised if it blows the inverter and you end up getting one with a higher current/power capability.
Finally got around to buying the Sears DieHard Gold 425 watt inverter, and it works like a dream
I even installed a hideaway for it inside my center console, pics forthcoming.
Best 50 bucks I ever spent.
