Power Adjustable Pedals

Can someone please school me on the operation of this feature? Some troubleshooting info would be nice. 2003 Scab Lariat

My brake pedal jams when I cycle the pedals back and fourth. It'll move an inch from the rearmost position then stop, then click over and over (similar to when you try to adjust a mirror past its stop) while the gas pedal continues as normal. If I grab the pedal and pull/push, I can get it to move past the jamming point.

Is there something stuck in the track? It appears that pedal movement is actuated just like a screw drive garage door.

hmmmm, not sure. I have never had an issue with mine. Have you been able to look up underneath the dash to see if there is something catching it? Good luck, hope you can figure it out!

Might want to take a look at the track the screw runs on to make sure it is not damaged at that point.

Trying to recall what it looks like. I think the '03 is different than the 04+ MY.

Did you check that the harness is not bound up, and hand operating is freeing it up.

This appears on the surface to be more of a mechanical issue.

I'll take it apart and check all those things after work and report back, thanks.

Well. What a massive disappointment this was. The broken component seems to be located in a non-serviceable welded steel fortress.

The worm gear and all the parts between it and the pedal are fine. The worm gear and motor/flexdrive connection sure feels stripped. I can't find any parts online that I can confirm with a picture, so I'm hoping I'll get lucky with a junkyard hunt today. The F-150's in the salvage yard are usually work trucks so fingers crossed for a wrecked Expedition! If nothing turns up, then surely my mechanical OCD will kill me.

Found a replacement pedal at the junkyard today. All up cost for the pedal and its attached motor was less than $15! Everything now functions as normal. It's quieter, too.
