wire harness repair.

2004 f150 heritage 4.6 4x4 . i started my truck and drove away and noticed it was running rough. after looking under the hood i noticed a broken wire from the main harness to what i think is a fuel injector. so my question is can i repair the harness (solder) or do i have to replace it. its the main harness that sits on right side valve cover. it,s very long with alot of connecters. lots like a real pain.. thanks

If you use some marine heat shrink ( has a sealant in it that is activated when heated with the heat gun ) and solder it well with an inline splice, it should be fine.

I don't think there is any Stainless Steel wire in the engine compartment, the only SS wire I know of is on the O2 sensors, and this is from the pigtail back in replacements.
