Strange problem
Got in my vehicle today and the service engine light, oil light, outside temp light, odometer, and direction reader was on. My truck would turn fine but wouldnt start. Unhooked battery to reset it. Then the truck started fine. Drove home 10 miles. Parked it, turned it off, pulled the key out, and the heater was still running full blast and a few of the lights stayed on. Any suggestions?
Sounds like the GEM is wet from rain or melting snow.
If you check the edge of the carpet where it is up on the fire wall, or remove the driver's side kick panel, and check for water damage, you might find some.
This is generally caused by the windshield leaking on the driver's side, or I read 1 unconfirmed case of a power roof panel leaking causing it.
If you can tarp the cab or get it into a garage and dry it out, might work fine, depends on how far gone it is ( aka how long this has been going on ).
Think the term is wet gem for searching, several posts on the topic.
Thing is to get the windshield resealed ( or replaced if in bad enough shape ) and get the truck dried out. Without stopping the water getting to the GEM, you are chasing your tail.
