Efi swap into early bronco..

I need any and all wiring diagrams you guys could send my way. Im putting a 1996 f150 5.0/aode in an early bronco hopefully using the obd2 computer. The guy that pulled it from the truck cut the harness just inside the cab so i dont know what wires go where in the dash. I've got the one from the haynes book but it doesnt show the ignition switch or anything else in the dash. If i had this i could at least crank the engine.

Any help (diagrams or schematics) would be great and greatly appreciated.

The AODE was never used in trucks; the truck version was the 4R70W.

There's more than just the ig.sw. going into the dash: inertia switch, alternator I circuit, some fuse feeds, some grounds, the DLC... Haynes didn't revise their wiring diagrams after '92, so your '96 has some significant differences from what's shown. But most of what it shows does apply, and the ig.sw. should be shown in the front of the wiring diagrams chapter. Read these captions:

.

You should know that there are some significant challenges to putting a 5.8L into an eB; not least among them, the hood interference with the plenum. For MUCH more info on the subject, search & browse the tech forum on http://classicbroncos.com/forums/index.php . There are plenty of people there who have done (or ARE doing) a swap similar to yours, and they can provide more details. I've only done 1 eB EFI swap, and it was a 5.0L:

If you can't find what you need, read these captions & e-mail me:

Steve, thanks for the links... But I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with the Service disk stuff. I didn't find the diagram i need...??

I am transplanting a 5.0. I understand the clearance issues with the intake, but I have a 3" BL, and if I wind up changing the intake, so be it. The transmission has a plate on the passenger side that has AODE - W on it. I have another one that came out of a 94 or 95 that looks just like it, and I just bought a 96 explorer that has yet another one that needs to be rebuilt. I have a 67 mustang I'll restore one day, so I'm not sure which setup I'll put where. I like the torque of the truck intake for the bronco.

I know there are a lot of components in the dash harness. I need to know which wires go where in the dash so I'll know what I need to use, and what to lose. We'll see how long it takes to sort through the harness to make the engine run.

If anyone has the factory manual with the dash harness this is exactly what I'm looking for.

Those pics show how the disks work, and give an idea of what's on them. They include most connector faces with wire colors, and all the wiring diagrams you need. You can find the disks for sale across the web, or e-mail me.

Yes, the 4R70W was based on the AODE, and Ford used that on some of the labels for a while.
