O/D Disconnected

Hey guys i bought an 01 f150 7700 series from my father. When he owned it it had a horrible shudder going into O/D. Some mechanic he had looked at it and claimed to have disconnectedthe O/D and that was the issue...turns out it wasnt we fixed the tranny propblem but the O/D is not hooked up somewhere, checked behind the steering wheel and its good, even had ford do the O/D recall still doesnt work...any help will be much obliged!

O/D disconnected behind the steering wheel ?

Do you mean the O/D on / off switch disconnected behind the steering wheel ?

How are you testing that the O/D is turned off electrically vs not functioning mechanically ?

BTW : What O/D recall are you referring to for a 2001 ?

The recall was for the switch bewteen the brake solenoid and the O/D. I havent done any tests i am unfamiliar with them.. All that i know is the O/D did work. the mechanic claimed to have disconnected it and now it doesnt work. Strangely though if i hit the buttons the cruise light blinks on for a split second but does nothing.

..I've never heard of an "O/D recall".... or a "brake solenoid"...
