This will at least test out the fuel pump from the fuse through the fuel inertia switch to the fuel pump itself.

When you are starting, are you going right from off to start, or stopping at the run fo the theft light to go out, then continue for this testing ?

 

the dashes i put kinda show the config.of the prongs... im sure u know what it looks like....i.e. can you either tell left I to right I or top dash to bottom i.. eyc.. thank you so much

 

FIX THE PATS ISSUE FIRST!!!!

changed f/p relay.. got new battery.. still same ..

 

the PATS is what i am trying to fix.. the post i started off with had to do with PATS

 

i tried jumping the relay, and bought a new one anyway.. nothing at all out of shrader on rail. when the ignition in acc all i hear is a light thump by tank.. can a PATS problem cause this , or can fuel pump cause theft blinking in acc, and at trying to start ? the f/p shut off switch has a red line showing on the side if it. i tried pushing it . the button is deppressed about 1/4 ". dont know if red line should be showing..

 

When you jumpered the normally open terminals in the relay socket, did you hear the fuel pump run ? It should of regardless of the number of key cycles.

I thought if the red line was showing, the fuel inertia switch was triggered.

 

I think your putting to much thought in this, if i were you have it towed to your local ford dealer and have them reprogram the truck and the keys. Happened to me and it was 70 bucks plus the tow.

 

i have appointment to have it brought in on monday morning... but i am going to keep on keeping on in my spare time.. i will go over all the options given again. thanks so much you guys.. any other over the top ideas , feel free to chime in !!! thanks !!! the problem will be posted here when found

turns over but wont start, turn to start no mileage or gauges until on for a minute then i get the dashes for the mileage and the theft light, try to crank every thing goes blank again

 

replaced fuel pump, fuel pump relay ,checked fuses,turns strong but no start. theft light flashes for about a minute real fast, tried spear key ,same???
