Let me ask you this I unplug light green yellow at cluster, I read 1.2 ohms there, I check pin 85 and don't read anything there why would that be if that wire runs to pin 85?
To add, i did this test with all the cluster wires unpluged from the cluster (black and blue conecter), i just thought about isolating that wire in particular, am i thinking wrong here or could this show me its in that wire?

Also were can I find the connecter that runs to the courtesy lamps to isolate that wire and see if the short is under the headliner?

Or is there a way to check that even if I pull the headliner and check those wires?

Ok I'm crossing my fingers, I found the connection to the courtesy lamps by the passenger foot compartment, I unplugged that put the fuses in and everything is working now.
I will pull the headliner later and see if I can find the place the wire is shorted.

Sorry busy this AM.

Looks like you took it the other way with your diagnostic steps and found out I was sending you the wrong direction.

Good to hear that you found what might be the culprit. Considering it blew fairly quick after sitting overnight.

Best way to tell, put the cluster back in, start the truck up and take it over a rough road. The jarring should tell if you found it.

The specific wire if you need to remove it ( and put the connector back together ) is the Light Green w/ Orange stripe wire in Connector C314 or C315 depending on the cab type. ( from the diagrams from Cell 89 above )

Looks like I was wrong I only isolated the visors and plugged them back in and fuse didnot blow, o was moving all the wires around under the cluster and must have moved the short or something.

The reason I wanted to isolate the privacy lights is when the fuse is blown I have no privacy lights or visor lights with the radio and windows, so I wanted to eliminate that area from the other, and the wires are light green with yellow stripe also

I know this is quite an old thread but it's hard to find detailed ones like this. Did you ever find the issue?
