DomeBedLight @ 3rd brake light

Hello,
I have a 2008 FX2. On the dashboard/ center part, you have the 12V power supply on the right, and the coin holder on the left. I want to remove the coin holder and install the FX4 original 2/4 wheel switch. Don't worry I want to use this switch to control the on and off function of the DomeBedLight.

the DomeBedLight (outside) is normally turned on/off by turning the instrument dim wheel. I want to move this.

My Question: Where can I get this 2/4wheel switch. I might even install additional Bed lights and that switch would be perfect.

thx

The 4WD switch for the 04-08 MY input to output is always closed, the only thing that changes is the resistance value depending on the mode selected.

The switch is not a 1P3T switch, so not easy to integrate into the application you are looking at.
It would require taking the switch apart, and trying to remove the resistors and add wires to the traces where the surface mount resistors are at.

The thing I found on the lettering, it is not that easy to remove. I found this when trying to install a power point on the driver's side instead of the coin holder, I had to flip the power point upside down so the door would clear the contour of the dash, which put the words upside down.

You can get the switch at any dealer or any of the Ford dealers that sell parts online.

In the 4WD switch position ?
If so, I would say not a switch from your MY truck, that is slightly less than the trim panel width.
