adding reverse sensors

Does anyone know if I can add reverse sensors, either in the form of a used bumper with sensors installed or getting a set of sensors and drilling holes in my existing bumper? Do they plug them straight in to connectors underneath if they weren't chosen as an option on the new truck? Or do I have to add some other wiring?

Hopefully this was clear enough.

Thanks in advance.

Phillip

Can you complete your profile or post some specs on your truck.

Sorry, for some reason I thought I had already completed the profile, but I guess not. Anyway it is now. Thanks, Phillip

Chances are the wiring is not in the harness on a XLT trim.

Once you added the wiring for the sensor to PAM ( Parking Aid Module ) you would need to have the truck programmed for it ( the 09+ MY, the PAM is connected to the Module Communications Network in the truck ).

Could be done, but you would need a trip to the dealer to program it, and depending on the dealer, they might not be too smart, and tell you it cannot be done.

You might be better off looking at an aftermarket park aid system, and installing it vs trying to add the factory one.

i installed the crime stoppers... it has the 4 sensors like the factory, but what i like more is that it has a small monitor that mounts on the dash that led shows the 4 sensors and how close.

http://www.crimestopper.com/
click on safety
then go to the left and click on back stopper
scroll down to ca-5011

Thanks for the tip Dr.J. I guess they don't carry 5011 anymore, but I'll definitely check out their product.
