15 amp under hood source

Ok I got my Rancho 'My Ride" installed and I want to hook it up via a switched 12 volt vs running it straight to the battery. Rancho suggests putting the 12 volt input to the processor into a 15 amp or more fused slot in the fuse panel? Not sure this is the best solution. What does everybody think on here? Keep in mind I really don't want to go through the fire wall, and the compressor probably draws around 10 amp I would imagine. Thanks for the input in advance.

Not much under the hood I would want to try to use to trigger a relay.

you are kind of stuck going through the firewall to the fuse panel to install an add-a-fuse in a slot to trigger a relay under the hood.

There are a few gromets, one is right by where the brake booster is at on the firewall, this is either just above or just below where the carpet ends.
