Electrical Problems

My friend has a 2000 f150 4x4. He had to park it over the summer and when he went to get it the battery was dead. He boosted it but now his window wipers, dome light, power windows and his 4x4 doesn't work. He says he has checked all the fuses under the dash and under the hood and all are okay. This truck is in a community accessable only by air or winter road so it is very expensive to get into. I am going there this week. Has anybody got any ideas where to start looking. He claims everything worked normally when he parked it last spring. Thanks for any help.

by "He boosted it" do you mean jump started it ?

If so, might want to put a battery charger on it.

While the battery is charging correctly ( the alternator is not made for charging a dead battery ) check the floor for signs of water damage, along the top of where the carpet is on the firewall, and by the driver's side kick panel on the floor. Could be a leaking windshield causing a problem with the GEM.

Start with making sure the truck has a good power source prior to getting too carried away with other items.
