Battery and alternator checks good but still getting a battery light on dash
After starting my truck up this morning i got a battery light on my dash. I tested the battery and alternator myself and then double checked my work by taking up to Auto zone and both checked good. I have not lost any electrical power to the engine so what could be causing this light to be going off. Ive read a few posts about some fuses to check but have not had any luck finding them even with the owners manual. any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks
By the way its a 99 f150

How, exactly? That's like saying: I know this story is true because I read it on the interwebz.
The only difference between zone employees & Burger King's is the hat. Parts counter guys are NOT qualified technicians, and very few of them know anything about diagnosis or installation of 1/10 of the parts they sell.
Does your alternator have an external regulator screwed to the back, with the words GROUND HERE TO TEST molded into it, and an arrow pointing to a screw?
The only reliable way to test a battery is with a MidTronics pulse tester. Every manufacturer requires its dealerships to use one for warranty returns because it's the only type that works. This is the one I have, but there are others:
