Wiper Issue
Wiper Issue
2006 Expy EB. Had the wipers on tonight, but now they won't turn off. I had to pull the fuse to get them to stop or it would kill the battery. Seems like a common problem for the f150 owners to have issues with the stalk switch, but this keeps getting power after the truck is turned off and the key removed.
Any ideas?

The MFS ( MultiFunction Switch / Stalk switch ) is signaling the GEM ( 97-03 MY ) which turns the wipers off/speed/on.
The '06 EXPY is closer to the 04+ MY F-150. If the wipers are running after the key is turned to the off position this could be a problem with the wiper run/park or High/Lo relay in the wiper motor itself.
The module in the wiper motor takes the input from the MFS, and signals the relays built into the motor to operate the wipers at the speed ( intermittent Lo or High ).
The fuse ( #F113 on the F-150 ) powers both the run / park & the Hi Lo relays. If either of those relays get held on ( after the electronics tell it to park ) that could explain the reason the wipers are operating by themselves.
The Electronics that operates these relays is fused by a lead from the ignition switch run/accy position, so I would think the electronics and the MFS are fine, it is just the run / park and/or Lo/High relay(s) causing the issue.

Awesome response. Last night I pulled out relay #1 and fuse 113, d/c the battery and let it sit for a few minutes. None of that worked. Eventually I just started the truck, let the wipers run while I messed with all the switches in the truck and suddenly the wipers stopped and went back to normal operation. Who knows?
OK, I have the oposite problem.
My daughter turned the wipers on to clear some snow instead of using the ice scaper and the wipers went up about 6 inches, then back down and will not come on now.
I have tried all the fuses, relays, cleaned the controler on the turn signal arm, and have even pulled a new motor from a truck in the junk yard and plugged it and still they will not come on. Then I noticed the washer fluid pump is not working. Any ideas??
