no output at ODB connecter

I borrowed my dad's code reader and got no display after plugging it in and cranking the engine. Figured it was a bad unit, he had loaned it out to a neighbor, so i bought one, and same deal. Appears to be dead at the connector. Any ideas, thoughts, or ideas on a fix would be appreciated.

Check the cigarette lighter fuse. That circuit powers the OBDII port.

There's a TSB about moving it to its own fuse.

Does anyone know where this TSB is located? I just had this issue this morning. My scanner returns a "Vehicle Not Responding" when trying to connect.

Don't worry about a TSB, just change the fuse to the cigar lighter / OBD port.
