I have a 2001 F350 Diesel that has started today randomly lighting up the parking lamps and side markers etc and panel and radio.. Sometimes it stays on for minutes and sometimes it flashes quickly several times.. Completely random increments.. Any ideas what could be the cause??

I removed the delay accessories relay and it still happened..

Truck is equipped with command start so i also unplugged the remote antenna by the mirror and it still happened.. (FOB battery is completely dead)

Is this with the headlamp switch in the off position, or do you use the Autolamp position.

The command start unplugging the antenna will not change if this is the cause, you would need to remove power to it ( make sure you have the programming directions prior to this, check for a starter interrupt and what the procedure is after changing the truck's battery ).

 

The headlamp switch is in the off position.. I guess I will find the procedure for after changing a battery because i disconnected it last night..

Through reading Ive found that maybe something has gotten wet, it has been raining for all week here, started raining long before this happened though..

 

I have not had time to look if the 2001 SuperDuty still had the GEM or if it was converted to the Smart Junction Box (SJB) by that MY.

The 97/98 SD were the same as the 97/98 F-150, but at MY 99 I am not sure what happened.
Think the 04 SD was already on the SJB, but that is just one of those facts in the back of my head, that is conjecture if it was the 1st MY, or already a few MY into the conversion.
