Start!

Ok my grandson accidently hooked up the jumper cables backwards and fried something. We have replaced the starter, solenoid and key switch. After replacing the key switch it started but bendix stayed engaged. Truck then died and would not start again. Replaced starter and tried again. nothing. Replaced solenoid and it seems to be shorting out! Does not even click! now what? Help!!! Ideas? Its a 1994 f150 4x4 v8. Tried starting from solenoid Relay to starter. Just clicked once.

Did you test any of those parts before replacing them? Did you test any of the new parts before installing them?

The solenoid is on the starter; the relay is on the inner fender near the battery.

Does the truck still have the big molded rubber end with 2 embedded ring terminals for the relay (top center of this pic), or are the big red wires separate?

They are the molded one. Checked the starter before installing and Key lock thing worked the first time installed Seems like there is power to the relay constantly I mean when I put that push on wire on it clicks one time ????

That suggests that the ignition switch is installed wrong, and is always in START electrically. But if the starter doesn't spin the engine when the relay clicks, then there are other problems. Have you studied that diagram? You should have battery power to the relay AND to the solenoid at all times. The ig.sw. triggers the relay on the tiny LG/R wire; the relay triggers the solenoid on the medium R wire; and the solenoid powers the starter on the exposed braided wire.
