1998 F150 4.2L Wire Harness-STARTER issue?
Went to work..truck started fine. Got off work, believe the starter died, or could it be something else? I was able to start it by push starting (stick shift), but it won't start any other way. Found a lose wire labelled 'resister wire' on back firewall - drivers side. Where does this wire attach. Can't tell from owners manual.
I don't know for sure if it's the starter, but I have power, battery works, etc.
What else could it be? Any thoughts?

Not sure what that is for, the factory harness does not generally have labels on it, just color codes.
What color is the wire ( pay attention to the color and the color of the stripe if applicable ).
On the firewall is the starter motor relay, which has 3 wires to it.
The Tan w/ Red stripe wire should have power on it when :
1. The clutch pedal is pushed in
2. When the key is in the start position.
This is powered from the cab fuse panel, fuse # 21. Check the fuse to make sure it is good ( fuse #21 is only hot in the start position ).
