F150 Won't Start Brake Pedal Switch?

The other day when starting my truck it tried and died, I pushed the brake pedal in further and it started, I thought then I may need to keep an eye on this. It's started fine for the last few days then today it won't start.

What part is it?
Can I fix it?
Can I override it until the part gets here?

I've been to 3 garages / Auto Parts asking about the part, no one will agree on the part I need

Thanks
Gary

How about some info on your truck or complete your profile.

? You have to push in the brake pedal to start the truck, all my Fords since 1985 at least have been like this. My wifes 2005 Freestyle is like this also.

Thanks

Your 05 is different than my '06 then, Same for my 2001, neither needed the brake pedal pushed in to start.

They need the brake pedal pushed in to take it out of park.

What happens when you start the truck without pushing the brake pedal in ?

Do you have an aftermarket remote start or alarm system installed ?
