High Beam indicator light on dash?
Is this some special option or what could be the reason for not providing one on our rigs? I've been caught with mine on, when I was not aware that I had even activated them.... Must have somehow pulled back on the turn signal lever or something....
They have sensors that will turn on your lights automatically, turn them off. Overhead consoles that will tell you the direction you are going and the temp outside. Let you know how much gas you have left, how many miles you can go and how many miles you get per gallon.....
But no simple indicator to tell you your highbeams are on!!
Sorry for ranting, but this just had to be said

Replace the bulb!
Seriously, there is a high beam indicator on the dash. It's a blue light and it's located right between the turn signal indicators at the top center on the dash - at least that's where it is on my '99 Lightning.
Sounds like yours has burned out.

You're welcome.
Not sure on your truck, but on most dashes the bulbs are replaced from the back side with the dash left intact. Try reaching up behind the tach and see if you can feel the small plastic bulb holders. Find the one for the High Beam indicator and turn it just a little bit to release it, then lift it out, put a new bulb in it and put it back in.
If you can get your hand up in there it's not that hard to do.
Good Luck!

Thanks Hawkeye,
I just dug out the owner's guide and for 1997, they have two instrument panels. One with a tach and one without. The one without the tach has the high beam indicator located right next to the left turn arrow. The turn arrows are below the speedo.
I have the tach version, so my turn arrows are above the speedo and no....... Oh, look at that...... Crap..... They hide the darn thing in the middle of the tach!! Now I feel really stupid.
I just checked again, and I got no light, so, I have a dead bulb
I can't imagine that bulb burning out, but there you go....
Not going to rip into the dash just for that.
Thanks again.
