Question How do I hook up aftermarket fogs to "ding!" ?

I've read some threads on this, but most people want to have their fogs run in the "park position."

I want my fogs to simply ding if I leave them on, like if I had left my headlights on.

Is it the same process? as http://www.geocities.com/tedoca/headlight.html?
Or is there a specific thead on this?

Hi defacto,
The page you are refering to is for vehicles with the factory fogs. If you want the dinger to work with them, wire them to the parking lights. Then they will come on with the parking lights and headlights, and if you leave them on it will ding. To do this, find the brown wire, either from the headlight switch in the cab, or directly from the parking light, and splice to that one.

Question

I just realized, if i do that, then wouldn't my fogs be on whenever i turn on my headlights? I've read that i can hitch them up to turn on when i pull out the switch (mine pulls out, but obviously no fogs) is there a way that i can put my new fogs to work in that 'pull out' position, then it would ding, and would work only when i put them on?

Hmmmm...Sorry, I don't have any experience with the pull-out switch. How did you get the pull-out switch with a 2wd? If you have that switch, but no fogs, then you will still have the wiring at the switch for factory fogs. Just find out which wires that would be and splice to them. I'm sure someone here knows which wires are what. Good luck.

Yeah, I thought that was weird too, having the pull out switch on the headlight switch on my 2wd, but it's there. I'll do some searching and maybe I can figure out which wire to splice to. Thanks for all your help tho.
