Headlight Issues

1998 F250 5.4L V8
I don't think that my headlights are working, I think it's only my DLR that work on this truck. My lights just are not very bright at night I do have the auto lights on and the dash lights come on and my marker lights. I can't get the brights to come on unless I hold my MFS in just the right position, the flash to pass does work.

Does anybody have any ideas on how to test my MFS or any other ideas?

Do the headlamps work when you turn them to the on position ?

I don't think so, the DLR are always on & they don't get any brighter when I turn my headlight switch to on.

OK, I just tried turning my lights on brights & dim w/o the key on with the switch & I get nothing either way. The only way I get any light out of my headlights is when the DLR are on when I turn the ignition on.
edit..

I just went out and took the light switch out and with my test light I can get some of the wires to turn the test light off and on by turning the switch.

Seems to not be an autolamp issue.

Did you check for power on all 3 fuses for the headlamps ? ( 2 fuses for lo 1 for high ).

Did you have the main headlamp switch in the on position when testing for power ?

You need to have the headlamps in the position for testing ( ie. low or high ) to test for power.

I tried it again after work & I still get no power to the fuse 26 or 28 with the headlight switch on.

I just got back in and at the Red/Yellow wire goes hot when I turn the switch on at the switch & at the MFS is that the wire that should turn on my headlights? If so is my MFS bad?

Got it fixed, stopped by the junkyard and grabbed a MFS, and they work now
