Diff btwn remote start systems

Trying to figure out what I need here and would like opinions on ease of self installation and programming.

I'm looking to put the a OEM remote on my 2010 FX4 Supercrew w/ Nav system.

Want to get 1 or 6 button keyfob, but don't fully understand all the differences since I already have a keyfob that locks and unlocks.

The rub for me (in getting the 1 button keyfob #7W3Z-19G364-AA) is knowing which interface to get...

#7L2Z-19G365-AA
or
#8L3Z-19G365-BA

Thanks!

Difference in the 2 Types of remote starters for 2010 F150 FX4

I got the single button Ford remote start. It was a factory installed option on my 2010 F150 FX4. I would not recommend someone go that route as it added 3 weeks to my delivery date as Ford ships the completed truck to another location to have it installed. Also having it factory installed on a 2010 FX4 gives you only one choice, and that is the single button remote start. The six button is available factory installed on some other Fords and it is available for self install or dealer installed on the 2010 F150 FX4. Its advantages are that it is two way (it lets you know that the engine has started), it also includes the security system (you will not need two key fobs in your pocket), and most importantly it is supposed to have a better range. I am very disappointed in the range of my single button remote start. It will not function in a restaurant or store if the truck is parked about 100' away and it needs to go through exterior brick walls. We installed a 2nd remote Ford starter in a 2008 F150 XLT. They work great outdoors and OK through windows. They just don’t do well through brick walls. It is not to difficult to install, although the instructions leave a lot to be desired. They are written for Ford service technicians that already know some very necessary details that the instructions do not tell you. One potential problem is that after 12-2009 Ford installs them so that the engine cuts off when you open the door. I think that it is a liability thing with Ford. They can be made to allow you to open the door without shutting off the engine, but the instructions that come with them do not tell you how to program them that way. If you purchase a Ford remote starter and you want to set it up so that it will not shut the engine off when you open the door, let me know and I will send you the information needed to do that. Good luck.
