Wiring diagram doesn't show an in-line fuse for the power point also known as auxillary power socket but the fuse in the fuse box is good and there is no power. Cigarette lighter works. I remember a post saying there was an in-line fuse but haven't located it. Anyone else had this problem? '98 F-250 LD XLT SuperCab.

On my truck a 2000 the fuse to the power point is in the fuse box under the hood on the left (drivers) side of the truck and
the fuse for the lighter is under the das both 20 amp fuses.

I just checked the fuses to the power point and lighter again and they are good. Checked them with a meter this time, as I have been fooled by fuses that looked "good" but were bad. I hate to start ripping out wiring but I need the extra power source.

Relays, Relays, Relays, to many in my Screw. Your power point may be controlled by one. The fuse protects the wiring up to the relay. The relay conducts the current.

A possibility.
