Headlights/Power Windows/Dome Light etc Not Working Right

So my sister took my truck this morning to move some stuff, and when she gave it back to me, the dome light and the rear cab lights (on either side of the 3rd brake light) were stuck on even after I closed the door. So I just cleaned each of the door switches and thought all should be well, but the lights were still stuck on!

I thought it might be that the door switches finally crapped out, so I started 'er up and opened the door. The "DOOR AJAR" warning light came on and the beep sounded. Closed the door, and the "DOOR AJAR" light turned off, but the dome light was still on. Opened it again, "DOOR AJAR" light came on again along with the beep, closed it again and the light went out. When I first had the dome light problem, the "DOOR AJAR" would stay on forever till I learned about cleaning the switches.

Then I decided to pull the relay and just deal with it later, so I shut 'er down and yanked the relay out. Just for kicks, I decided to try to replace the relay with the one right above it on the fuse panel and see if that fixes the problem, but when I yanked that relay, my channel locks accidentally hit the metal chassis around the fuse panel and arced momentarily. Pretty sure I blew at least a couple fuses, but everything under the dash and under the hood is in tact.

But anyway, replacing the relay with the one above it did nothing. The dome light wouldn't even come on, even with the old relay.

Then I decided to bring the truck into the garage so I could work on it. Started 'er back up and pulled it into the garage. That's when I noticed that the headlights were on. The switch was in the "off" position. Turning the switch to parking lights or headlights did nothing. High beams worked, but I couldn't turn the lights off.

Both power windows also wouldn't work. They are currently both stuck in the up position, and the switches from both sides don't do anything. Mind you, I just worked on the driver's side power window motor on Saturday and used both power windows all day on Sunday with no problems whatsoever.

However, the power locks still work from both switches, audio still works, power mirrors still work, and the panel dimmer works. So I'm at a loss as to what the heck is up with my truck. I just took my Edge and reprogrammed it back to stock just in case the PCM decides to crap out and unplugged the battery for now.

So in summary:
-Dome light and cab lights stuck on, but "DOOR AJAR" warning light and beep still work as usual
-Power windows both inoperable from either switch
-Headlights stuck on
-Power locks/mirrors/audio system/panel dimmer all operating correctly

Truck is a '99 F150, 5.4L V8, 4-spd auto, 2WD. Only electrical mods are 4 Hellas that are wired directly to the battery and grounded to the chassis, and the Edge Evo that I mentioned earlier (was on the Trans Only program).

Little update...if I disconnect the negative cable from the battery then immediately reconnect it, the headlights stay off. But as soon as I turn the key to the "On/Run" position, the headlights turn on and stay on until I unplug the battery again.

Second update. I plugged the relay for the dome light back in, and everything except the headlights works again. Power windows work, and the dome lights turn on and off when the doors are opened and closed. Seems weird that plugging in that relay caused the windows to start working again.

Headlights still do not operate correctly. If I disconnect the battery then reconnect it, the headlights are off. I can turn them on and off at will with the headlight switch with the key removed and with the key turned back one notch in the "accessory" position.

But as soon as the key is turned to the "on" position, the headlights come on and stay on until I disconnect the battery again. The warning chime sounds when the doors are open and the headlight switch is on, but it does not sound when the switch is off, even though the lights are on.

Same situation as yesterday, but I noticed the battery saver still works, IE the headlights turn off after about 10 minutes and remain off till the next time I turn the key on.

I also noticed that there is a tiny (maybe 1/16" diameter) amber light that illuminates on the headlight switch when the headlights are on the "stuck on" mode, so I'm trying to figure out what that is or what it means.

Wow, I feel dumb. Two days worth of work and guess what? When my sister took my truck, she wanted to turn up the panel brightness but accidentally hit the automatic headlight dial instead of the panel dimmer dial, enabling the automatic headlights. Since it's dark in my garage, when I turn the key on, the lights obviously come on and stay on for a few minutes after the key is removed, just I never waited long enough for them to turn off by themselves until an hour ago. Can't believe I didn't check that first!

That still doesn't explain why the power windows stopped working for a while, but it all works again so I guess I'm good for now. Thanks for the help (or at least for the 48 of you that read this thread).
