Post Wiper Switch

Has Ford issued a recall on the wiper switch?
I had a '99 Ranger P.O.S. where the wiper switch would not spray fluid when you push in the tip, and would activate the wipers on it's own. My '97 F-150 is doing the same thing!

Check out the link below, maybe it will help you. My washer has worked fine since doing this procedure, but sometimes my delay varies. Works a whole lot better than it used to! I'm pretty sure there's no recall, but maybe a TSB. I was out of warranty so didn't really check into it.

No problem, hope it works for ya. Just watch that the little pieces don't fly everywhere. It comes apart really easy. Good Luck to ya!

i have seen a guy take the tip apart and clean the contact's in the sw. i have not done this. but his has been working fine for a long time now. there is a cover that run's up the back of the sw. arm. and the tip of the cover pop's off if a remember right. and there is a screw behind there. to acces. those contact's. they get dirty very easy. and that's what cause's most concern's. i would ask him again to make sure. but will not see him until next week. good luck.
