if you can find it (kind of a dinosaur) there is speedo head lube. It is old and probably REAL hard to find. However, it sounds like the head is junk. SOrry to be the bearer of bad news.

no lube will fix this, its all electronic, i have to replace clusters for that prob, and the tachs do the same thing too.

91's are NOT electronic. The odometer doesn't have a digital display does it? If it does, it is a 92 not a 91. This was the last year of this body style. The 92 trucks were the first with electronic speedos and digital odometers. Lube is gona be HARD to find. It is not hard to do.. takes maybe two hours at the most. probably bet on around a hundred and a half if you take it to someone to do, that's just for labor. The best bet is to contact your dealer snd see if he can get a head for it. if he can, I assume it will be around a hundred and a quarter. They are seperate units and do not have to be replaced in the cluster. So to have it done, figure an easy $275. IF the dealer can't get one you should be able to find one in the boneyards for cheaper and MAY be able to get the complete cluster for just a little money.
