Thumbs up

Visited my local dealer this AM and they checked the battery and said it was OK. Even with the redeye. But they replaced it anyway. No charge! Not even a disposal fee.

They shouldn't have. The eye is not valid after installation into the vehicle. If they had read the batteries book from ford or taken the correct courses for their certification they would have known this. The battery eys is only for pre installation.

Question

So what good is the "eye" to a consumer?

Absolutely nothing. After a motorcraft battery is installed, Ford says the eye is not a valid method of checking the battery.
