Post Oil guage Issues

One thing that rips me off is the design guys at Ford 'faked oout' the oil pressure guage. It is not a true analog guage but merely goes halfscale off of the oil pressure switch not grounding out. There is a fixed resistance on the back of the inst cluster that sets the fixed deflection of the needle. Has anyone figured the correct resistor combo and pressure sending unit to render the guage operational. I cant believe Ford would spend the money to put the guage in but 'dummy it out'. Ford says they had too many problems with leaky analog sending units on old Fords. Ford can execute one of the best engine designs ever but we are not seeing true oil press, go figure ?

Regards Dave
