Question alarm and remote locks

I just recently purchased a 99 150xlt and the dealer did not give me a remote entry transmitter. On my dash I have a blinking theft light. Assuming that I have a factory installed alarm can I assume that I also have the remote entry package? If my assumptions are correct can I just purchase a new transmitter and somehow get it to work?
Any help or hints appreciated.

On 2000 models there is a PATS system (coded key and dash theft light). This is standard on all and has two options. Remote entry and key-pad type entry. If you do have the option your owners manual will tell how to program them. As for an actual alarm system they don't have one. You can activate a panic option on remotes that will flash headlights and honk horn but not an actual alarm.
